Modern Fiction Novel Design Layout -- 2

My 300-page fiction manuscript is edited and proof-read; now I need it professionally set in Adobe InDesign so that the final files go straight to the printer without a hitch. The trim size is 5.5 × 8.5 inches and I’m after a clean, modern look rather than the traditional novel feel.

Here’s what I need from you:

• Build a complete InDesign file with master pages, accurate margins, bleeds, running heads, page numbers, chapter openers, and a linked table of contents.
• Supply a press-ready PDF (CMYK, embedded fonts, correct bleed and crop marks) plus the packaged InDesign folder with fonts and links.
• Choose typefaces that complement a modern aesthetic; I’m open to your recommendations as long as readability is kept front and centre.
• Ensure everything passes pre-flight for offset printing and that page breaks stay consistent if the text is re-flowed later.

If you’ve laid out novels before and can share samples, that will help me decide quickly. I’m ready to hand over the manuscript in Word as soon as we agree on the timeline, and I’m happy to answer any technical questions you might have along the way.
