About NOCD

NOCD is the #1 telehealth provider for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). OCD is one of the most severe, prevalent, and misunderstood mental health conditions. NOCD creates access to online therapy for people with OCD through our telehealth platform. In the NOCD app, Members can quickly access and schedule live, face-to-face video therapy sessions with our national network of licensed Therapists that specialize in Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP) - considered the "gold standard" in OCD treatment.

At NOCD, we help people reclaim their lives with clinically proven OCD treatment, by removing barriers to OCD care, and reducing the stigma associated with OCD. We’re changing the world and need other like-minded individuals to accelerate and expand our efforts.

About the Role

NOCD is looking for independently licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC) and Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) in New York who are on the pathway to earning their Diagnostic Privilege (Dx P) but have not yet completed the full 2,000 hours of supervised experience required by New York State.

This role is designed for candidates who already qualify for the Diagnostic Privilege in every respect except the completion of supervised hours. NOCD will provide the qualified clinical supervision needed to complete your remaining hours while you build a caseload and gain specialized training in OCD and related disorders with a clear path to full Dx P and independent diagnostic authority.

What You'll Do

Provide evidence-based therapy to Members with OCD via the NOCD video platform, under the required clinical supervision toward your Diagnostic Privilege

Manage your own caseload and schedule

Maintain complete, timely clinical documentation in the NOCD EHR

Participate in regular supervision sessions focused on diagnosis, psychotherapy, and assessment-based treatment planning — the core competencies required for Dx P

Participate in NOCD clinical consultation and specialized ERP/OCD training

Collaborate with NOCD's network of providers to develop and reinforce treatment decisions

Requirements — Diagnostic Privilege Pathway

To be eligible for this role, candidates must qualify for the New York Diagnostic Privilege in all respects, with the sole exception of completing the required supervised experience hours:

Full, unrestricted NY license as an LMHC or LMFT

At least 1,000 of the 2,000 required hours of supervised direct client contact already completed — experience must include diagnosis, psychotherapy, and the development of assessment-based treatment plans, in a setting acceptable to NYSED

Qualifying graduate coursework already completed covering NYSED's four required content areas (diagnosis and assessment-based treatment planning; assessment, evaluation and diagnosis using accepted classification systems; developing and implementing assessment-based treatment plans; and clinical interventions with diverse populations), as reflected on your official transcript

Able to secure third-party certification of the above — your graduate program's registrar and a qualified supervisor or licensed colleague must be willing to complete and submit the certification sections of NYSED Forms 2D and 4D on your behalf (see the accompanying one-pager for details)

Practical experience independently diagnosing is required (may be satisfied during pre-licensed supervised experience)

At least 6 months of relevant experience with evidence-based therapies (e.g., ERP, CBT, ACT)

Knowledge and experience treating OCD with ERP preferred but not required

Please note: an offer of employment for this role is contingent upon the accurate and complete submission of the relevant clinical portions of New York State Education Department Forms 2D (Certification of Education) and 4D (Certification of Experience) by your graduate program's registrar and your qualified supervisor or licensed colleague.
