Memoir-based Short Film Creation

I’m looking for someone to help bring a very personal story of mine to life as a professional live-action short film.

I’ve written a memoir about my life, covering my childhood, difficult experiences growing up, and the journey that ultimately changed my life. I believe it has strong emotional and cinematic potential and I’d love to see it adapted for film.

I’m looking for someone who can ideally take the project from:

Memoir → Screenplay → Casting → Filming → Editing → Finished Film

I would provide the memoir and my input on the important elements of the story, but I’m looking for someone who can take responsibility for the creative and practical side of the production. I don’t want to be involved in the day-to-day filming or production myself.

I want a real live-action film with human actors and traditional filmmaking, not AI-generated actors or footage.

I’m initially thinking around 15–25 minutes, but I’m completely open to up to 40 minutes or slightly longer if the story genuinely requires it. I don’t want important parts of the story removed simply to meet a specific runtime.

As this is my first film project, I’m looking for a cost-effective independent production and would really value your professional advice on the best way to achieve this within a realistic budget.
