Mechanical / Product Design Engineer - Modular Cage-Block CAD
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
STEEL ONE seeks a mechanical/product design engineer to translate engineering-reviewed modular frame concepts into coherent parametric 3D assemblies. Concept module sizes: 4 ft × 10 ft × 10 in; 2 ft × 3 ft × 10 in; and 3 ft × 6 ft × 10 in.
SCOPE OF WORK
• Develop parametric CAD models for common frame families and configurable module sizes.
• Model preliminary corner joints, bolted interfaces, frame attachments and replaceable cladding interfaces.
• Produce orthographic views, sections, exploded assemblies and revision-controlled drawings.
• Coordinate proposed geometry with the project structural and manufacturing engineers.
• Set up a logical bill of materials and part-numbering structure.
EXPECTED DELIVERABLES
• Native editable CAD files (SolidWorks, Inventor, or agreed equivalent).
• Neutral STEP exports and PDF drawing set with clear revision labels.
• Assembly/part BOM and open engineering questions register.
• Design assumptions and items awaiting structural approval.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• Relevant mechanical/product engineering portfolio.
• Expertise in parametric assemblies, metal components, tolerance practices and GD&T.;
• Experience with extrusions, welded frames, precision fasteners and manufacturing drawings.
• Ability to document concepts without presenting them as approved structural details.
OW TO APPLY
Provide two to three similar CAD projects, your preferred software, deliverable formats and a milestone-based proposal.
PROJECT TERMS
Remote collaboration; initial scope is a milestone-based paid engineering study. Specify your fee and timeline.
All output should be clearly labeled by revision. Confidentiality and intellectual-property assignment terms will be agreed before detailed technical disclosure.
