Mechanical Engineer (SolidWorks) - Part-Time Contract

Description of Role
We’re looking for a mechanical engineer proficient in SolidWorks to support our team on a short-term, part-time contract. You’ll produce production-ready drawings and assemblies, applying sound GD&T practices.

Part-time contract, approximately 25 hours total

Duration: 2–3 months

Location Remote

Open to candidates anywhere in the US who work through their own LLC or business entity

Candidates not working through an LLC must be based in Massachusetts

Responsibilities

Create detailed 2D drawings from 3D SolidWorks models

Build and manage basic assemblies

Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to ensure manufacturability and clear design intent

Collaborate with the team to review and revise designs as needed

Requirements
Required Qualifications

Proficiency in SolidWorks (part modeling, assemblies, drawings)

Solid working knowledge of GD&T

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience

Portfolio of relevant work required with application

Nice to Have

Experience with FEA (SolidWorks Simulation or similar)

Solidworks surfacing

Operating through your own LLC or business entity
