Seeking Mechanical CAD Parts & Assemblies with Complete Feature History
Project Overview-
We are looking for experienced mechanical CAD designers, product design engineers, and engineering professionals who can provide real-world mechanical CAD parts and assemblies with complete, editable feature history for AI training and technical evaluation.
We are particularly interested in authentic engineering design data covering a variety of components, manufacturing processes, and CAD modeling techniques.
## Required Deliverables
1. Native CAD Files
- SolidWorks: `.SLDPRT`, `.SLDASM`
- CATIA: `.CATPart`, `.CATProduct`
- Other compatible native CAD formats: `.prt`
- Complete feature history and editable design tree.
- All referenced components, design tables, and standard parts required to open the files correctly.
2. STEP Files
- Final STEP files in `.STEP` or `.STP` format.
- Intermediate STEP exports after each modeling feature, where available or required.
- AP214 or AP242 formats, with valid 3D solid geometry.
3. Engineering Drawings
- Vector PDF drawings.
- Corresponding DWG/DXF files at the same revision.
- Dimensions, tolerances, fits, GD&T, and surface finish specifications, where applicable.
4. Design Documentation
Each part should include a brief design description covering:
- Intended function and application.
- Mating components and assembly context.
- Important dimensions, fits, and tolerances.
5. Assembly Data
For assemblies, please include:
- Native assembly files with mates and constraints intact.
- Correct part positioning and component relationships.
- Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Identification of standard components such as bolts, bearings, and fasteners, including applicable ISO, DIN, or ANSI standards where available.
6. Dataset Manifest
A CSV manifest should include the following fields for each part:
- Part ID and family/variant ID.
- Component category and short description.
- CAD software and version.
- Feature count.
- Material.
- Manufacturing process, such as machining, casting, molding, or sheet metal.
- Whether the model is an original design or a tutorial/example model.
Who Should Apply?
- Mechanical CAD designers and product design engineers.
- SolidWorks, CATIA, and other parametric CAD specialists.
- Manufacturing and mechanical engineering professionals.
- Engineering firms with suitable CAD archives.
- Individuals or organizations with legally licensable mechanical CAD datasets.
## How to Apply
Please provide the following information in your proposal:
1. CAD software and versions used.
2. Approximate number of available parts and assemblies.
3. Types of components and manufacturing processes represented.
4. Availability of native files with complete feature history.
5. Availability of intermediate STEP exports, engineering drawings, and metadata.
6. Whether the data consists of original industry designs, tutorial models, or a combination.
7. A brief description of your ownership and licensing rights.
Please share a small representative sample or suitable preview for initial assessment. The initial evaluation batch and subsequent licensing or delivery arrangements will be agreed upon before proceeding.
Important: All submitted data must be owned by the provider or legally authorized for licensing. Confidential, restricted, or NDA-protected third-party data must not be submitted without appropriate authorization.
