MATLAB/Simulink Tutor Needed for PMDC Motor, Fan Load and PID Control Project
Project Description
I am looking for an experienced MATLAB/Simulink tutor to provide technical guidance for a university electromechanical systems project involving a permanent-magnet DC (PMDC) motor, an industrial fan load, and PID speed control.
This is a tutoring and technical-support project. I must personally complete and submit the assessed work. The freelancer should explain the modelling process, help identify errors, review my independently prepared model and results, and provide constructive feedback. The freelancer must not write or submit the final assessed report on my behalf.
Topics Covered
The project includes:
Developing a PMDC motor model in Simulink from its electrical and mechanical differential equations.
Using motor datasheet parameters such as resistance, inductance, torque/back-EMF constant, inertia and viscous friction.
Evaluating motor performance at 48 V and 90 V.
Calculating and plotting:No-load speed and current
Stall torque
Speed and current against torque
Output power and efficiency against torque
Maximum-efficiency operating point

Adding an industrial fan load with:Load inertia and damping
A nonlinear torque-speed relationship

Designing and tuning a PID controller for a specified fan-speed profile:Accelerate from 0 to 1.75 rad/s in 10 seconds
Maintain 1.75 rad/s for 80 seconds
Decelerate to 0 rad/s in 10 seconds

Evaluating controller performance, including tracking accuracy, overshoot, settling behaviour and control effort.
Discussing an appropriate position, velocity or acceleration sensor for implementing feedback control.

The selected freelancer should:
Explain how to derive and implement the Simulink model.
Review my model structure and parameter values.
Help debug simulation errors or unexpected results.
Explain how to validate the model against the supplied motor datasheet.
Guide me through PID tuning and performance evaluation.
Review my plots, calculations and technical interpretation.
Suggest improvements while allowing me to implement the changes myself.
Provide explanations during one or more screen-sharing sessions if required.
Deliverables
