I need a precise, single-piece backstrap patterned after the Novak 25 LPI style, engineered specifically for the 1911 Builders bobtail Commander frame. This is not a visual mock-up—I am after a full manufacturing-ready CAD model that carries every critical dimension, radius, hole location, and thread so the part can drop straight into CAM or metal additive workflows.
Key details
• 25 LPI checkering must be modelled, not just textured.
• Profile, tang fit, pin holes, and mainspring housing cavity must match the 1911 Builders bobtail Commander frame exactly. (I can supply the frame or any reference measurements you require.)
• Deliver whichever file format prints stainless steel reliably for you; if that ends up being STL, STEP, or both, I am fine with it as long as the geometry stays watertight and dimension-accurate.
I prefer work done in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or a comparable professional CAD package so future edits remain straightforward. When finished, I will verify the model by checking critical dimensions against my frame and by running a quick tool-path simulation, so please keep tolerances suitable for CNC machining or DMLS.
If you have prior experience modelling firearm components, especially 1911 parts, let me know; otherwise, your ability to hit the dimensions first time will speak for itself. Looking forward to seeing your approach and timeline.
