Manufacturing / DFM Engineer - Steel and Aluminum Modular Frames
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
We need an engineer experienced in cost-effective fabrication of repeatable steel/aluminum assemblies for the STEEL ONE modular building system.
SCOPE OF WORK
• Review structural and CAD concepts for manufacturing feasibility and tolerances.
• Evaluate extrusion, roll-forming, laser cutting, bending, machining, welding and bolted assembly.
• Recommend repeatable process flows, assembly fixtures and inspection methods.
• Identify weld distortion, corrosion compatibility, tolerance stack-up and field-installation risks.
• Develop rough-order-of-magnitude prototype and production cost models with assumptions.
EXPECTED DELIVERABLES
• Manufacturing feasibility / DFM report and design-change recommendations.
• Prototype process routing, tooling / fixture concept and quality checklist.
• Preliminary costed BOM and supplier capability specifications.
• Prototype quotation request (RFQ) package outline.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• Proven industrial metal fabrication / DFM background.
• Experience with fabricated structural steel or aluminum assemblies.
• Knowledge of process capability, metal joining and inspection.
• Portfolio demonstrating transition from CAD to physical production.
HOW TO APPLY
Describe similar products brought to prototype/production and provide a proposed scope, timeframe and fixed-price milestones.
PROJECT TERMS
Remote collaboration; initial scope is a milestone-based paid engineering study. Specify your fee and timeline.
All output should be clearly labeled by revision. Confidentiality and intellectual-property assignment terms will be agreed before detailed technical disclosure.
