Summary
The Manger Retirement Benefits directs the day-to-day operations of Jefferson retirement plans; provides mentoring, coaching, training, support, and guidance to the members of the retirement team. Manage the Jefferson Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution and 457(b) Plans. Responsible for overall compliance and effectiveness of the Jefferson retirement plans; apply plan rules and interpret legal requirements. Provides expertise and strategic leadership for functional areas of the retirement programs.

Job Duties

Directs the day-to-day operation of Jefferson retirement plans; provide mentoring, coaching, training, support and guidance to members of the retirement team. Establishes clear expectations and goals for the retirement team; resolves escalated benefit issues. Responsible for overall compliance and effectiveness of Jefferson retirement plans, working closely with internal and external partners to establish effective communication strategies to improve employee experience and ensure that Jefferson retirement plans are compliant and competitive.

Serves as a subject matter expert and point of contact for escalated colleague retirement benefits program inquiries; provides exceptional customer service to colleagues and other stakeholders; resolves retirement benefits-related issues through investigation and coordination with internal and external partners. Interpret and communicate plan provisions through retirement plan documents and summary plan descriptions.

Manages vendors, including vendors for outsource benefit programs, to ensure that retirement benefits programs are designed and administered consistently with Jefferson's Total Reward strategy and Jefferson values. Supports the implementation of new retirement benefits programs through administrative setup and employee communications; maintains ongoing retirement benefits operations through proactive monitoring issue resolution.

Keep up with the national trends in retirement programs; ensures the accuracy of retirement benefits data in HRIS; collaborates efeciveley with cross-functional teams, including payroll and other functional areas in Human Resources. Researches and analyzes retirement benefit-related issues to identify root auses and develops resolution recommendations.

Provide expertise and strategic leadership for the Retirement Team. Leverages organizational knowledge and insights to enhance retirement benefits program effectiveness; contributes to knowledge sharing initiatives with the Retirement Team; and documents processes, procedures and best practices to ensure continuity and consistency.

Collaborate with the AVP of Retirement on the design of the Retirement strategy to meet Jefferson's established goals and objectives. Interact with all levels of the enterprise to ensure that retirement plans align and support the enterprises' strategic and business objectives. Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations for process improvements and program enhancements; proactively adopts and leverages technology tolls to improve efficiency, accuracy and user experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

5 years in Retirement Benefits Management and Administration

Proficiency with Microsoft Word

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, include ability to work with formulas and pivot tables

Strong analytical skills; critical thinking skills; and attention to detail

Experience working with an enterprise human capital management system

Skilled in process management

Ability to listen actively, communicate clearly and empathetically, take responsibility, adapt and exercise self-control under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in human resources, business, or related field

PHR - Professional in Human Resources - HR Certification Institute

CP - Certified Professional - Society for Human Resource Management

CEBS - Certified Employee Benefits Specialist - International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans

Additional Qualifications
Working knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements affecting employee retirement benefits programs, including ERISA, Social Security and DOL requirements.

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
