### About the Opportunity

We're launching **Around Ashford**, a brand-new UK local publishing and digital media business, on **1st December 2026**.

Our business includes six bi-monthly local magazines, an online business directory, community events, local advertising and plans for national franchise expansion.

Our website is almost ready, and we're looking for an exceptional VA to join us before launch, learn our systems and help us grow.

**This is a long-term opportunity, not a collection of occasional freelance tasks.**

### Your Responsibilities

**Magazine Production**
- Produce professional magazine layouts ready for commercial printing.
- Prepare print-ready PDFs, including CMYK, bleed, crop marks and correct resolution.
- Manage advertising artwork, production deadlines and printer communication.
- Coordinate production across six magazine editions.

**Facebook Marketing**
- Create compelling, scroll-stopping Facebook posts.
- Design graphics using Canva and AI.
- Schedule regular posts to build awareness before and after launch.
- Promote businesses, events and advertising opportunities.
- Help grow our audience and generate enquiries.

**Email Marketing**
- Write engaging, persuasive emails.
- Schedule campaigns using Brevo.
- Manage contact tagging, segmentation and email lists.
- Create automated follow-up sequences and newsletters.
- Track enquiries and responses.

**WordPress & Business Operations**
- Learn and manage our new WordPress backend.
- Maintain directory listings, events, jobs and advertiser accounts.
- Manage customer enquiries, bookings and renewals.
- Coordinate day-to-day administration and suppliers.
- Find opportunities to improve efficiency using AI and automation.

### Communication Is Extremely Important

You MUST speak excellent, fluent English and be confident speaking with UK customers and suppliers by telephone or Zoom.

You must also have:

- Professional-quality headset and microphone.
- Excellent audio quality without background noise.
- Fast, reliable and secure internet.
- Backup internet and power arrangements.
- Secure computer and quiet working environment.
- Availability during agreed UK working hours.

### The Person We're Looking For

Our founder is a fast-moving entrepreneur who values speed, initiative and results.

**We want facts, not lengthy explanations.**

When asked a question, give a clear, concise answer. We don't need a chapter explaining how you intend to complete a task.

You should be:

- Highly proactive and self-motivated.
- Extremely organised and dependable.
- Quick to learn new systems.
- Confident making sensible decisions independently.
- Comfortable using ChatGPT and AI daily.
- Commercially aware and interested in business growth.
- Able to work quickly without sacrificing quality.

**Previous experience producing magazines for commercial printers is essential.**

### Hours & Growth

**November 2026:** 10–15 hours weekly, learning our systems and preparing for launch.

**1st December 2026:** Official launch.

**January 2027 onwards:** Potential to increase towards 40 hours weekly as the business gains momentum.

Facebook marketing will be central to generating awareness and attracting customers.

The faster we grow our audience, acquire advertisers and generate revenue, the sooner we expect to increase working hours.

We want someone who is motivated to help make that happen!
