Low-Cost Solar Panel Cleaning System -- 2

I’m developing a fully automatic device that keeps both residential and commercial rooftop solar arrays spotless by pairing a belt-driven carriage, a soft brush and a sparing water-spray line. The core objectives are clear: cut manual labour to near-zero, use as little water as practical and achieve faster, more uniform cleaning – all while making the unit simple enough for a single technician to clip in place during installation.
Here’s what I need help with:
• Complete mechanical and control-system design for the belt mechanism that can travel the length of typical rooftop strings and return to a docking station automatically.
• Soft-bristle brush selection and drive layout that won’t abrade panel coatings yet removes stubborn dust.
• Low-flow spray bar or misting concept, including pump sizing and plumbing schematic, that keeps consumption to a minimum without sacrificing cleaning efficiency.
• Modular mounting scheme that lets an installer attach guides, rails or wheels without drilling through panels or voiding manufacturer warranties – easy installation is the top priority for end users.
• 3D CAD files, BOM with off-the-shelf components, simple control logic (Arduino, PLC or similar), wiring diagram and assembly instructions ready for a prototype build.
• Life-cycle maintenance plan and projected per-clean cost so we can preserve the “low-cost” promise.
If you’ve engineered moving equipment for rooftops or automated cleaners before, I’d value design insights, material choices and any test data you can share. I’ll be reviewing proposals on overall robustness, ease of install and evidence that the water-saving goal is achievable.
