About the channel
I run a long-form Warhammer 40,000 lore YouTube channel with a calm, atmospheric, “archivist” feel. The narration is immersive and story-driven, letting the setting breathe. I’m looking for a recurring narrator to become the channel’s long-term voice, not a one-off.
The voice I’m after
Deep, calm, measured and warm. An unhurried storyteller, slightly solemn, drawing the listener in.
Able to hold a slow, atmospheric delivery across long runtimes without becoming monotone. Subtle light and shade, not a high-energy or “trailer” voice.
British accent preferred, but accent is flexible for the right tone. The feel matters more than the accent.
The work
Ongoing, regular videos. This starts at about one video per week and is set to grow to two or more per week, so there’s scope for increasing, steady work for the right narrator. Scripts run 50 to 90 finished minutes each, so this is long-form work and you’re comfortable with longer sessions and consistent delivery across them. The content is sci-fi/fantasy lore (Warhammer 40k) with a lot of invented names and terminology, so you must be comfortable with unusual proper nouns. I’ll provide a pronunciation guide for each script. Familiarity with Warhammer 40,000 lore is a big plus.
What I need delivered
Preferred: broadcast-ready audio, fully edited and mastered. If you can deliver finished, polished reads ready to drop straight in, that’s ideal.
Minimum: clean edited reads with the fluff removed (flubs, false starts, bad takes, long silences, and obvious mouth clicks or distracting breaths tidied up). I’m happy to handle the mastering (EQ and loudness) myself, so fluff removal is the baseline requirement either way.
If you’re delivering the unmastered version, record it dry and untreated, with no reverb, compression, noise removal or plugins baked in.
A consistent mic and recording space across every session, so the videos sound like the same channel.
A broadcast-quality home studio: a quiet, treated space, low noise floor, and a professional microphone is preferred.
Pricing
Priced per finished audio minute. Please quote your per-finished-minute rate.
To apply, please include
A demo reel or samples, ideally calm, narrative or documentary-style work rather than ads or character voices.
Your per-finished-minute rate and typical turnaround.
Confirmation of your home-studio setup (microphone and treated room).
If you can, a short sample reading two or three tricky invented names from a guide (I can send a few), so I can hear how you handle unusual terminology.
