Content Editor & Writer for Monthly Lubricants & Greases Industry Magazine (Long-Term)
What We're Looking For
An experienced writer/editor, or a small content team, who can research, write, and edit the full editorial content of the magazine every month. This is an ongoing engagement, with a minimum commitment of 6 months for the right person.
Monthly Scope of Work
Industry Trends & Market Analysis (2–3 articles, 1,000–1,500 words each): Base oil price movements, crude impact, demand trends across automotive, industrial, marine, and agricultural segments, synthetic and bio-lubricants, EV fluids, and sustainability topics.
News Roundup (8–12 short items): Domestic and international news covering product launches, company announcements, mergers, capacity expansions, BIS/API/OEM specification updates, and government policy affecting the sector.
Key Personnel Interview (1–2 per issue, 1,200–2,000 words): Interviews with senior figures in the industry, such as executives from oil marketing companies, OEMs, blenders, distributors, and plant maintenance leaders. Responsibilities include preparing questions, conducting the interview (phone, video, or email), transcribing, and writing it up in Q&A or feature format. We will assist with introductions to some interviewees, but the freelancer should be able to reach out and schedule interviews independently.
Technical Article (1 per issue, 1,000–1,500 words): Practical topics such as grease selection, lubricant contamination control, oil analysis, viscosity grades explained, storage and handling, or failure case studies, written for a practitioner audience.
Editorial Support: Headlines, captions, pull quotes, a monthly editor's note draft, and proofreading of the final layout.
Deliverables & Timeline
An editorial calendar and story list for each issue by the 5th of the month
All final content delivered by the 20th of the month, as edited with sources cited
Final proof check within 48 hours of receiving the designed layout
Required Skills & Experience
A proven background in B2B, industrial, automotive, or energy sector writing (lubricants or petroleum experience is a strong plus)
The ability to explain technical concepts clearly and accurately
Experience conducting and writing up professional interviews
Excellent English, with Hindi as an added advantage
Strong research skills and strict originality (no AI-spun or plagiarised content; all work will be checked)
Familiarity with the Indian lubricants market and key players
Nice to Have
Existing industry contacts in oil companies, OEMs, or the manufacturing sector
Experience with magazine or trade publication workflows
Basic layout and design sense, or a designer partner
