We are looking for a highly experienced LLM Optimization (LLMO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) Specialist to improve the visibility and authority of a US-based healthcare brand across traditional search and emerging AI-powered search experiences.
Patients are increasingly using platforms such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews and other generative search experiences to research symptoms, understand treatment options, compare providers, and find healthcare professionals.
Our goal is to ensure that when potential patients ask relevant, high-intent questions, our practice, providers, treatments, expertise and locations are accurately understood, represented and cited wherever possible by search engines and AI systems.
This role goes beyond traditional SEO. We are looking for someone who understands how web content, structured data, entity authority, medical E-E-A-T, knowledge graphs, search behavior and LLM retrieval systems work together.
What You Will Be Responsible For
1. LLM & AI Search Visibility Audits
Conduct comprehensive visibility audits across:
ChatGPT
Google Gemini
Perplexity
Claude
Google AI Overviews / AI search experiences
Other relevant AI answer engines
Test high-value queries such as:
Condition and symptom-related searches
Treatment-related questions
"Best [specialist] near me" searches
Location-specific healthcare queries
Treatment comparison queries
Provider comparison queries
"Who should I see for..." queries
Patient education and informational queries
Establish a baseline for:
Brand visibility → Provider visibility → Citation frequency → Competitor visibility → Accuracy → Sentiment → Local relevance
2. AEO & GEO Content Strategy
Develop a content strategy specifically designed for AI retrieval and answer generation, while maintaining strong traditional SEO performance.
This includes:
Restructuring existing website content
Developing highly useful patient-focused FAQs
Creating treatment and condition guides
Optimizing provider biographies
Building location-specific content
Creating comparison and educational content
Improving topical authority
Identifying content gaps based on real patient questions
Structuring content into clear, factual, extractable sections
Developing content that can earn citations from AI and traditional search
The objective is not to "write for AI," but to create authoritative, trustworthy and easily retrievable information that AI systems can confidently understand and reference.
3. Entity & Knowledge Graph Optimization
Strengthen the digital entity footprint of the healthcare organization and its providers.
You should have strong knowledge of:
Schema.org
JSON-LD
MedicalClinic / Physician / Person entities
MedicalProcedure
MedicalCondition
Organization
LocalBusiness
FAQPage where appropriate
SameAs relationships
Entity disambiguation
Knowledge graph signals
Wikidata and other authoritative entity sources
Ensure that the website clearly establishes relationships between:
Organization → Providers → Locations → Services → Conditions → Treatments → Supporting Evidence
4. Healthcare E-E-A-T & Authority
Build stronger trust and authority signals appropriate for a YMYL healthcare website.
This may include:
Provider credentials and qualifications
Medical reviewer information
Author/reviewer attribution
Clinical references
Authoritative medical sources
Reputable healthcare directories
Professional organizations
Relevant third-party mentions
Digital PR opportunities
Patient review ecosystem
Consistent NAP and provider information
Trust and transparency signals
You should understand the difference between legitimate authority building and low-quality link/citation tactics that can damage a healthcare brand.
5. AI Response Accuracy & Competitive Monitoring
Regularly monitor how AI systems describe:
Our practice
Our providers
Our locations
Our treatments and services
Conditions we treat
Patient eligibility
Insurance/payment information
Competitors
Treatment alternatives
Identify inaccurate, outdated, incomplete or misleading information and develop strategies to improve the quality and consistency of the underlying web/entity signals that AI systems rely upon.
Important: We understand that no specialist can directly control or guarantee what ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or another AI system will say. We are looking for someone who understands the underlying factors that influence AI visibility, retrieval and citations.
6. AI Search Tracking & Reporting
Develop a practical AI visibility measurement framework.
Track metrics such as:
Share of AI visibility
Brand mention frequency
Citation frequency
Citation sources
Provider mentions
Competitor mentions
Query-level visibility
Local AI search visibility
Accuracy of AI-generated information
Sentiment/context of mentions
Changes over time
Provide actionable monthly reporting showing:
What changed → Why it changed → What competitors are doing → What we should do next
7. Conversion & Patient Acquisition
Visibility alone is not the objective.
We want AI and organic search visibility to contribute to qualified patient inquiries and appointments.
You will work with the marketing team to improve the journey from:
AI/Search Query → Search Result/AI Citation → Website → Trust → Conversion → Appointment
Identify opportunities to improve:
Landing pages
Appointment CTAs
Internal linking
Location pages
Service pages
Patient education journeys
Conversion-focused content
Appointment scheduling pathways

Knowledge of Google AI Overviews and modern search experiences
Experience with knowledge graphs/entity optimization
Understanding of how AI crawlers and retrieval systems interact with websites
Experience combining SEO, AEO, GEO and conversion optimization
What We Are NOT Looking For
We are not looking for someone who simply:
Writes generic AI-generated blogs
Adds FAQ sections to pages
Adds basic schema markup
Builds low-quality backlinks
Claims they can "rank a brand in ChatGPT" through a single technique
Promises guaranteed ChatGPT/Gemini recommendations
Focuses only on traditional keyword rankings
We need someone who understands the entire AI search ecosystem and can develop a measurable, long-term strategy.
