I’m setting up a dedicated web application to keep our fleet visible around the clock and to turn the raw GPS feed into clear, actionable insight. My in-house team is already trained on day-to-day monitoring, accounting platforms, and data entry; what we need now is the actual system—stable, secure, and easy for them to operate from any browser.
Here is what I’m after:
• Real-time location monitoring on an interactive map, with the ability to group, filter, and search units quickly.
• Automated analytical dashboards and downloadable reports that highlight trip history, idle time, speed violations, and any custom KPIs we agree on.
• Alert rules (geo-fence breach, long stops, off-hour movement) delivered inside the interface and optionally by email/SMS.
• A clean admin panel where I can assign user roles for our trainees and adjust tracker settings without touching code.
The hardware trackers are already installed and can stream data over HTTP, TCP, or MQTT—use whichever you prefer. You’re free to choose the tech stack (Node.js, Django, Laravel, or comparable) as long as the final product is web-based, responsive, and well-documented.
Acceptance criteria:
1. Live map updates within 5-second latency on a 100-unit test set.
2. Historical reports generated in under 30 seconds for any 24-hour period.
3. Source code and deployment guide delivered so we can host it on our own VPS.
If you’ve built similar GPS or telematics dashboards before, especially those involving live socket connections and data analytics, that’s exactly the experience I’m looking for. Please outline your proposed stack, timeline, and a quick summary of past work when you respond.
