Linux Backend Engineer — Python/FastAPI REST APIs for Security Platform

We're hiring an experienced backend engineer to build, deploy, and maintain REST APIs for a security-focused, self-hosted incident response / case-management platform running on Linux.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain REST API endpoints (Python, FastAPI)
Deploy and operate the platform on Linux (Ubuntu) via Docker / Docker Compose
Configure and harden supporting services: Nginx reverse proxy, MariaDB, Redis, Celery workers, Elasticsearch
Manage authentication, secrets, and secure configuration (env vars, tokens, TLS certs, encrypted credentials)
Build custom integrations/parsers/enrichers against the platform's REST API
Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune services (logs, container health, resource sizing)
Apply security best practices throughout (least privilege, input validation, secret handling, patching)
Requirements

Strong Python backend experience, ideally with FastAPI
Solid Linux system administration skills, comfortable at the CLI
Hands-on production experience with Docker & Docker Compose
Experience with MariaDB/MySQL, Redis, Celery (or similar), Elasticsearch
Understanding of REST API security (auth, encryption, secrets handling)
Cybersecurity / incident response / DFIR background is a strong plus
Good written English for async communication
Nice to have

Experience with SOAR/DFIR/SIEM platforms
Nginx configuration & TLS
CI/CD pipelines
