I am seeking an attorney in the Columbus/Franklin County, Ohio area to handle the post-judgment collection of an existing court award.
A former commercial tenant filed two unsuccessful lawsuits against my LLC. Following the litigation, the Franklin County Municipal Court awarded the LLC more than $11,000 in attorney fees and costs as a sanction for frivolous conduct. The debtor has not paid the judgment voluntarily.
The debtor has a history of prolonging proceedings and has continued to delay payment by imposing changing conditions and procedural objections. I am therefore looking for an attorney who can move promptly and cost-effectively from voluntary collection efforts to formal enforcement, including wage or bank garnishment, judgment-debtor examination, and/or a judgment lien against real property, as appropriate.
My previous attorney has retired, so I need new counsel specifically to handle this final, post-judgment enforcement phase. I am particularly interested in counsel experienced in creditor's rights and post-judgment enforcement who can pursue collection efficiently without allowing the debtor to generate unnecessary additional litigation and legal expense.
Requirements:
- Contact Judge to garnish debtor's wages, place lean on house, and recover and court fees and attorney fees involved in collection of debt.
Initiate and manage all necessary legal actions to recover the owed amount
- Utilize provided documentation to support the claim
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Background in debt collection and legal proceedings
- Experience handling similar cases
