Project Title: Delphi Developer Needed for Legacy Software Recovery and Modernization
Project Description
I am looking for an experienced Delphi developer to analyze, maintain, and modernize an existing Windows application used to operate automotive fuel injector testing equipment.
The goal is to assess the feasibility of source code recovery, improve the application's maintainability, review database connectivity and hardware compatibility, and prepare the software for future maintenance.
Scope of Work
1. Application Analysis: Review the existing application's architecture, dependencies, and main components.
2. Source Code Recovery: Assess the feasibility of recovering or reconstructing readable, well-structured Delphi source code and an editable project.
3. Database Compatibility: Analyze the Microsoft Access (.accdb) database and ACE.OLEDB connectivity, document the database structure, and configure connectivity using credentials provided by the client.
4. Hardware Compatibility: Examine the application's dependencies on the existing testing equipment and assess the feasibility of supporting compatible hardware configurations.
5. Documentation and Testing: Prepare build instructions, technical documentation, and a summary of testing results.
Expected Deliverables
- A technical assessment of the existing application.
- Recovered or reconstructed source code, where technically feasible and authorized.
- An editable Delphi project, if recovery is possible.
- Database connectivity documentation.
- Hardware compatibility assessment.
