As a Lead Data Manager, you will ensure the delivery of high‑quality data to Sponsors while taking an active leadership role in developing and mentoring Clinical Data Management (CDM) staff. This role provides operational oversight, quality leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure data management activities are executed effectively across the lifecycle of clinical studies.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation of Clinical Data Management team members

Mentor and develop employees to support career growth and succession planning

Organize and deliver training on new systems, equipment, processes, and study requirements

Ensure team data management files and documentation are current, complete, and inspection‑ready

Support routine status meetings with Sponsors/CROs and internal stakeholders

Monitor productivity and quality across the CDM team

Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs), including quality metrics, productivity, data delivery, and query performance

Conduct routine performance and quality reviews with managers, supervisors, and staff

Support team members in edit check setup and appropriate actioning of edit check output

Lead resolution of Quality Events related to study‑specific data management activities

Serve as the primary internal and Sponsor contact for Data Management‑related questions, issues, and concerns

Define and maintain Data Management Plans (DMPs) in collaboration with Sponsors, Project Management, and Account Management

Support development, review, and finalization of data transfer requirements in partnership with Sponsors and Clinical Data Programming teams

Participate in review and approval of Data Management‑owned study setup modules to ensure quality and compliance

Ensure high customer satisfaction through on‑time delivery, clear communication, and consistent service excellence

Assist in preparation of monthly reporting and provide data management metrics as required

Develop, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Standard Work Instructions (SWIs), job descriptions, and departmental training materials

Partner with Business Development and Quality Assurance to support internal and external client meetings and audits

Maintain clear communication with Sponsors and internal teams regarding study status, timelines, and risks

Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives, including workflow optimization and documentation

What We Look For

Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field preferred

5+ years of data management experience

Prior leadership or people management experience preferred

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Strong organizational, interpersonal, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

High attention to detail and commitment to quality

Exposure to or experience with SAS and/or SQL preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional and client‑facing teams
