Project Overview
We are looking for an experienced Laravel developer to implement city-wise shipping charges on an existing Laravel-based e-commerce website.
Currently, the website supports flat-rate shipping. We need to add city-wise shipping charges while retaining the existing flat-rate shipping functionality.
Scope of Work
1. City-Wise Shipping Charges
Calculate shipping charges based on the customer's selected delivery city.
Use the shipping rates configured for each city in the database/admin settings.
2. Flat-Rate Shipping
Preserve the existing flat-rate shipping option.
Ensure the configured flat shipping amount is applied correctly.
3. Checkout Integration
Support both guest checkout and logged-in customer checkout.
Update shipping charges when the customer selects a city.
Ensure shipping charges are calculated correctly when an order is created.
4. Payment Gateway Integration
Ensure the correct final amount, including shipping, is passed to the existing payment gateway.
Verify that the checkout total, payment gateway amount, and saved order total match.
5. Testing and Bug Fixes
Test flat-rate and city-wise shipping.
Test guest and logged-in checkout.
Fix any related issues without affecting existing checkout functionality.
Technical Requirements
• Strong experience with Laravel and PHP
• Experience with MySQL and Eloquent ORM
• Experience debugging existing e-commerce applications
• Knowledge of checkout, order totals, and payment gateway integrations
• Ability to work with existing code without disrupting live functionality
