Araamya is a merchant house bringing premium cotton tshirts — starting with t-shirts into Kenya. I need a concise, data-driven study that pinpoints untapped market opportunities for cotton T-shirts.
Screening Questions:
1. What Nairobi neighbourhood are you based in, and what's your typical weekly availability?
2. Please confirm your Kiswahili proficiency — spoken and written.
3. Share one example of previous field research, mystery shopping, or retail-audit work (link or description).
4. This role requires geotagged photo evidence for every row, and does not allow AI-generated or Google-scraped data — non-compliant rows won't be paid. Do you agree to these terms?
5. Quick sample: pick any cotton product in a Nairobi shop you can visit today. What would you record for brand, GSM, RRP, and colour? A photo is a bonus.
Project Task:
Look for primary and secondary market for cotton tshirts. Understand the wholesale and distribution network, generate leads.
Visit retail locations across Nairobi and record every cotton t-shirt, tote bag, and cotton apparel product you observe. For each product: brand, fabric composition, GSM (if labelled), country of origin, design/motif, colour, size range, RRP, and 2+ photographs
Deliverables:
You will be given the file to populate:
● Tab 3 — Retail Field Data: one row per product observed.
● Tab 6 — Design & Trend Log: aggregate motif/trend rows.
● Tab 8 — Source Log: one row per store visit or desk session — your audit trail.
● Tab 9 — Regulatory & Import Intel: gather KEBS/PVoC info and KRA duty rates. Get quotes from Intertek/SGS/Bureau Veritas Nairobi offices where possible.
Evidence requirements:
Every row must have:
● A Source Type from the dropdown
● A Source Reference — URL you fetched, photo filename, or call log ID
● A Date Verified
Photos must be phone-geotagged (location on) or accompanied by a wayfinder image showing you were physically present. AI-generated, stock, or Google-scraped data will result in non-payment.
Who this is right for:
● Based in Nairobi (essential)
● Fluent in English and conversational Kiswahili
● Comfortable with structured data entry in Excel/Google Sheets
● Own smartphone with a decent camera and can enable geotagging
To prove you can handle this, please attach past work that shows similar market-opportunity research in B2B or apparel contexts. No generic CVs—actual samples are what I’m looking for.
