K–5 Academic Quality & Curriculum Consultant — U.S. and India
Remote | Freelance / Part-time | Initial paid pilot with potential for ongoing work
About QuestionBoards
QuestionBoards.com is a live learning platform for kindergarten through Grade 5, covering Math, English, Science, and Social Studies.
Our platform combines structured daily practice, tutoring, school assignments, and custom Question Boards that parents, tutors, and teachers can create.
We are seeking experienced educators to help establish the academic quality of our content. Our question bank contains approximately 120,000 questions, initially generated using ChatGPT. We need independent expert review of their accuracy, grade suitability, rigor, and curriculum coverage.
The assignment
We welcome applications from specialists in the U.S. curriculum, Indian curriculum, or individual elementary subjects. You do not need expertise in every country or subject.
Responsibilities include:
Audit topics and subtopics across K–5 for missing concepts, duplication, grade placement, and prerequisite order.
Map content to the applicable curriculum standards, specifying the relevant U.S. state or Indian school board.
Independently solve questions and verify answer keys, options, explanations, hints, passages, and images.
Identify ambiguous questions, multiple correct answers, weak distractors, and misleading wording.
Evaluate difficulty and reasoning demand, distinguishing standard practice from advanced or competition-style questions.
Recommend precise corrections and identify questions that should be removed or rewritten.
Help establish a consistent review rubric and, where appropriate, supervise additional reviewers.
Required experience
Elementary teaching, curriculum development, or assessment-writing experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of your chosen subjects and grade levels.
Experience reviewing educational questions or instructional materials.
Strong written English and the ability to explain academic judgments clearly.
Familiarity with relevant standards, such as TEKS or the applicable Indian board’s syllabus.
Curriculum coordinators, instructional coaches, assessment editors, experienced teachers, and former school leaders are encouraged to apply. Direct assessment experience is more important than job title.
Initial project and deliverables
We will begin with a limited paid pilot—not the entire question bank.
Deliverables will include:
A curriculum coverage and sequencing audit for an agreed scope.
A question-review spreadsheet showing question ID, issue, severity, proposed correction, and reasoning.
A summary of recurring problems and recommendations.
An estimated timeline and cost for further review.
Please disclose any AI tools used. AI may assist your work, but your independent academic judgment and verification are essential.
Please include in your proposal
Your qualifications and relevant experience.
Countries, curricula, grades, and subjects you can confidently review.
An anonymized sample of previous curriculum or assessment work.
Your proposed review method and realistic review capacity.
Weekly availability, hourly rate, and proposed fixed price for an initial pilot.
Whether you can lead or supervise other subject reviewers.
We value accuracy and thoughtful educational judgment over speed. Please quote for a small initial pilot and explain exactly what your fee includes.
