Job Application Autofill Extension

I need a production-ready Chrome extension that can read a stored candidate profile and instantly populate job application forms. The profile will hold full name, email, phone, city, state, work authorization, education, and work experience, all editable through a side-panel interface (not a popup or new tab).

Core behaviour
• On a page from Indeed or Glassdoor—plus a generic “jobright” template I will supply—the extension should detect standard inputs, textareas, radio buttons, native selects, and the custom dropdown widgets those sites use.
• Each field has to be matched by label, placeholder, or HTML name in a safe way so that “City” never ends up in a “Company” field. If no reliable match is found the script must leave the element untouched.
• City and state must be matched together to prevent the wrong state from slipping into an unrelated select.
• The side panel must let the user view and edit every saved datum with instant feedback on the next page refresh.

Cross-browser note
Primary target is Chrome, but I also want a version that installs and runs in Firefox using the WebExtension API. Keep the codebase shared (Manifest V3 with minimal Firefox flags) so maintenance stays simple.

Deliverables
1. Complete, well-commented source in a loadable folder or ZIP
2. A short README covering installation in Chrome and Firefox, profile editing, and how to test on the two required sites
3. Screenshots (or a short GIF) showing successful autofill on Indeed and Glassdoor pages

Acceptance criteria
• One-click fill works on at least two distinct form layouts per site
• Side panel correctly saves, updates, and persists data between sessions
• No unrelated inputs are modified during autofill
• All code lint-clean and free of console errors
