Japanese IT Technical Report Translation

I have a series of Information-Technology technical reports that must read as if they were originally written in Japanese, not simply converted word-for-word from English. The material discusses software architecture decisions, API change logs, and performance benchmarks, so absolute precision with technical terminology is critical.

Your task is twofold: translate the existing English reports and, where content is missing or unclear for a Japanese audience, write short bridging paragraphs so the final document feels complete and native. Consistency of terminology, adherence to the original layout, and preservation of diagrams and code snippets are all important. A background in IT or previous work with API or SDK documentation will be a strong advantage because I will rely on you to recognise when a literal rendering could confuse Japanese developers and suggest a clearer phrasing.

I usually work in Microsoft Word and occasionally in Markdown; if you prefer a CAT tool such as Trados or MemoQ, that’s fine as long as the final hand-off comes back in the original format.

Deliverables:
• Fully translated and edited Japanese technical report, mirroring the English structure
• Glossary of key IT terms you standardised during the process
• Change log noting any sections you rewrote or expanded

Acceptance criteria: the document must pass a bilingual review by our lead engineer, compile without formatting errors in Word, and score at least 95 % on a QA check such as Xbench or Verifika.
