We are seeking an exceptional native English-speaking writer and academic editor to mentor a high school student preparing to apply to Ivy League universities. The goal is to help her develop and refine her original history research article for submission to leading scholarly journal appropriate to his work and student eligibility.

Scope of Work
• Help revise and polish the article’s structure, clarity, academic tone, and use of evidence while preserving the student’s voice and authorship.
• Check and correct citations, footnotes or endnotes, and the bibliography using Chicago/Turabian style or the style required by the journal.
• Review the journal’s submission requirements and help prepare the article for submission.
• Critical: Ensure the final article meets the journal’s AI screening requirements while preserving the student’s original writing and authorship.

Required Qualifications
• Native English speaker with excellent academic writing and editing skills.
• A background in History, English, or a related humanities field. Major in world history is especially helpful.
• Strong knowledge of academic citation styles and close attention to sources, notes, and bibliographies.
• Reliable, responsive, and able to work closely with the student and meet agreed deadlines.

Preferred Experience
Experience publishing in respected scholarly journals or helping authors or students prepare articles that were accepted for publication.
