Italian Dialects Handbook Creation

I would like a clear, engaging handbook that introduces readers to the rich variety of Italian regional speech. The goal is a single, well-structured volume—digital and print-ready—that walks the reader from a short history of dialect evolution through to practical phrases, pronunciation guidance using IPA, and short cultural notes for each variety you cover. I am particularly interested in the major dialect areas; for instance, you might treat Sicilian, Neapolitan, Venetian and any others you feel are essential to give a balanced picture of the peninsula’s linguistic diversity.

The tone should stay friendly and accessible, yet precise enough that a curious student, traveller or even a linguist looking for a quick reference will find value. Visual clarity matters: maps that show where each dialect is spoken, side-by-side vocabulary tables, and a pronunciation key will help readers navigate the material. If you work in InDesign or a similar layout tool, please keep styles and assets tidy so later updates remain painless.
