Project Title:
IPTV/OTT Server Setup & Optimization on Lenovo Server – 150 Channels & 1500 Concurrent Users
Project Description:
We are looking for an experienced Linux Systems Engineer and Video Streaming Specialist to build, configure, and fully optimize a professional, buffer-free IPTV and OTT streaming system. We already have the physical hardware infrastructure in place and need an expert for end-to-end server deployment and network integration.
Our Hardware & Input Infrastructure:
• Server Hardware: Physical Lenovo System x3650 M5 with 32 GB RAM.
• Input Feed: MPTS IP Multicast/Unicast stream from a CATV Headend (Each TS contains 8 to 25 channels. Total required: 150 Channels).
• Local Distribution Network: VSOL EPON OLT for FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) triple-play delivery.
Scope of Work & Key Deliverables:
1. Server OS & Panel Deployment: Clean installation of an appropriate Linux OS (Ubuntu) on the Lenovo server, followed by the deployment and configuration of a free/open-source IPTV management panel.
2. MPTS Demuxing & Transcoding: Configure the server to accept the MPTS streams from the digital CATV headend, demux them into individual SPTS channels, and optimize transcoding profiles using FFmpeg (H.264/AAC, HLS output format) ensuring minimum CPU strain.
3. Anti-Buffering & Performance Tuning: Setup advanced RAM caching (tmpfs/Nginx optimization) utilizing the server's 32GB RAM to completely eliminate disk-read latency. The system must operate seamlessly without any channel lagging or buffering for 1,500 concurrent active users.
4. OLT & IGMP Network Configuration: Provide clear technical guidance on configuring the VSOL EPON OLT, mapping the dedicated IPTV VLAN, and properly configuring IGMP Snooping/Proxy to distribute multicast streams without overloading our local broadband network.
5. Security & Monitoring: Implement basic firewall policies, panel access security, and an anti-DDoS layout.
Freelancer Requirements:
• Proven track record in deploying large-scale streaming systems (1,000+ concurrent clients).
• Deep understanding of DVB-to-IP, MPTS/SPTS processing, and high-performance FFmpeg transcoding configs.
• Expertise in Linux kernel networking optimization (sysctl.conf) for massive concurrent data throughput.
Please share your portfolio, examples of similar physical server deployments you have managed, your proposed architectural approach for this scale, along with your cost and project timeline.
