Position: Intellectual Property Expert
Type:Contract
Compensation:$90–$100/hour
Location:Remote
Role Responsibilities
Construct IP scenarios for patent prosecution, portfolio strategy, and complex licensing or technology transfer processes.
Build tasks across patent prosecution, IP litigation, trademark and copyright practice, and freedom-to-operate analysis.
Develop scenarios using tools such as patent search platforms (PatSnap, Innography, USPTO PatFT) and IP docketing systems (Anaqua, CPA Global).
Apply IP methodologies like patentability analysis and claim construction to US and International standards (35 U.S.C., MPEP, EPC, PCT, WIPO treaties).
Author rubrics that distinguish authentic IP judgment from generic recall.
Qualifications
Must-Have
5+ years as an IP attorney or patent agent at a major IP firm or corporate IP department.
Direct ownership of patent prosecution portfolios, licensing negotiations, or IP litigation matters.
Fluency in IP tooling and methodologies, understanding of USPTO/EPO procedure and international treaty systems.
Preferred
Recognized professional credential (JD with bar admission, USPTO patent bar registration, or international equivalent).
Technical/STEM background plus prior rubric or training authorship.
