IoT Inventory Platform for Auto Shop

I want to introduce an IoT-driven inventory management system into my single-location car body shop so I can serve customers faster and with fewer stock-outs. The whole point is efficiency: when a repair order comes in, I need to know instantly whether the right panels, paints, fillers and fast-moving consumables are on hand and, if not, receive an alert before the customer even finishes the intake process.

Here is how I picture it working. Every item shelf, paint cabinet and parts bin is fitted with a sensor solution—RFID, weight sensors or another technology you recommend—that feeds live counts to a cloud dashboard. When counts dip below a preset threshold, the system suggests a purchase order or flags it on a tablet that my front-desk staff already uses. Because the goal is better customer service, the interface must be simple enough for non-technical staff to see stock status at a glance, commit parts to a job ticket and trigger re-orders without hunting through menus.

I will rely on you to choose the best hardware mix (sensors, gateways) and develop or customise the software layer that ties it all together. The solution should integrate with common body-shop management tools via API or, at minimum, export CSV/JSON so I can keep my existing workflow. Please include installation guidelines and a brief training hand-off so my team can maintain the system once it is live.
