We are seeking an experienced independent procurement/supply-chain consultant to support an initial international due-diligence assignment involving a proposed copper cathode transaction.
The initial engagement is expected to involve approximately 10 days in Dubai and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The purpose of the initial assignment is to independently assess the integrity of the proposed copper supply, seller, documentation and supply chain before the buyer proceeds beyond an initial trial shipment.
Key responsibilities are expected to include:
Review and independently verify available seller and product documentation and paper trail.
Conduct appropriate due diligence on the source and provenance of the copper.
Assess the seller, proposed supply chain and transaction process.
Liaise with an independent inspection/certification organisation such as SGS and ensure the inspection requirements are clearly established.
Represent the buyer's interests during physical inspection and verification activities.
Attend and oversee loading of the trial shipment.
Witness container sealing and maintain appropriate chain-of-custody controls.
Reconcile documentation against the physical product and shipment.
Identify discrepancies, risks or areas requiring further verification.
Provide the buyer with a concise written report and recommendations following the assignment.
The initial trial shipment is expected to be approximately 25 tonnes, with a potential longer-term supply arrangement of approximately 300 tonnes per month, subject to successful completion of the initial due diligence, verification and trial shipment.
The successful consultant should have substantial experience in international procurement, supply chain, logistics, commodity transactions and/or mining operations. Experience working in Africa and dealing with international inspection/certification providers would be highly regarded.
Please provide:
Your proposed professional day rate.
Your proposed rate for international travel days, if different.
Your availability for an initial approximately 10-day assignment.
Examples of relevant international procurement, commodity, mining or supply-chain due diligence experience.
Any other costs or conditions that you would expect to apply.
Travel, accommodation and reasonable out-of-pocket expenses would be considered separately from professional fees.
