Internal Team Chat System Development

I’m rolling out a secure, browser-based chat space dedicated to in-house communication. Every employee—no matter the department or seniority level—should be able to log in and start talking instantly without installing third-party apps.

Core functionality I must see working smoothly:

• Real-time text messaging
• Drag-and-drop file or image sharing (common formats only)
• Creation and management of group conversations so teams can break off into project-specific rooms

Beyond those essentials, I want a clean interface, searchable message history, and straightforward user management so I, as an admin, can add or deactivate accounts with minimal effort. If you’re comfortable using established frameworks such as Node.js, Laravel, Django, Firebase, or any comparable real-time stack, let me know which you prefer and why—it’s important the codebase remains easy to maintain.

Final deliverable is a fully functional, self-hosted chat application deployed on a staging server I’ll provide, plus clear setup documentation so my internal IT team can push it to production confidently.
