I’m putting together the first-round MVP of a browser-based origami design space that runs from a Unity WebGL build and feels great on both desktop and tablet screens. The idea is simple: children drop into a 3D scene, grab a virtual sheet, and follow clear, animated folds until a basic crane, boat, or similar beginner model appears in their hands.
Core experience
• Real-time 3D folding — mesh deformation or equivalent geometry logic that makes each crease look and behave like real paper.
• Camera freedom — orbit, pan, and zoom without clipping the model or losing orientation.
• Step guidance — every fold highlighted, animated, and rewindable so kids can experiment safely.
• Starter template library — at least three beginner models (e.g., crane, boat, frog) ready to load from a menu.
Technical focus
Unity is the chosen engine, so you’ll be working with its WebGL pipeline, scene management, and input system. The build must launch cleanly in modern browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox) and adapt its UI layout to common tablet resolutions. Efficient geometry algorithms are essential to keep frame rates stable as folds accumulate.
What I expect in the hand-off
1. Unity project folder with commented C# scripts, shaders (if any), and assets.
2. Compiled WebGL build and clear deployment notes (I’ll host it on an existing HTTPS domain).
3. Quick start PDF or markdown that explains how to add new models and folds.
4. Short screen-capture demo proving desktop and tablet usability.
If you’ve already tackled mesh manipulation, cloth or paper simulation, or interactive 3D tutorials, your insight will accelerate the project. Let’s craft a playful learning tool that can later scale into a full-blown origami platform.
