Freelance Reel Editor — Role Description
We are looking for a Freelance Reel Editor who can transform raw video footage provided by our team into sophisticated, cinematic, and editorial-style Instagram Reels.
Role
You will receive raw footage from photoshoots, fashion stories, cultural documentation, events, and behind-the-scenes content. Your responsibility will be to creatively edit the footage into polished, visually engaging Reels that align with our publication’s premium and contemporary aesthetic.
Responsibilities
- Edit raw video footage into Instagram Reels.
- Create a cinematic, sophisticated, and editorial visual style.
- Select the strongest shots and create a smooth narrative/visual flow.
- Handle cuts, transitions, pacing, colour correction, and basic colour grading.
- Add suitable music, ambient sound, and sound design.
- Add minimal and tasteful typography/text where required.
- Create reels suitable for Instagram, including vertical 9:16 formatting.
- Maintain consistency with our brand's visual identity.
- Collaborate with the creative/editorial team and incorporate feedback.
- Deliver final videos in high-quality, social-media-ready formats.
Ideal Candidate
- Strong portfolio of cinematic, fashion, lifestyle, editorial, or luxury-content Reels.
- Good understanding of visual storytelling, composition, pacing, and music.
- Strong sense of aesthetics and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with raw footage and creating a concept through editing.
- Experience with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, CapCut Pro, or similar editing software.
