We're Velvet Studio (velvetstudio.ca), a booking and client management tool for solo hair stylists and small salons in Canada. We're looking for an outreach specialist, and this is a paid test project to find the right person.
THE TASK
I'll send you 10 Instagram profiles of solo stylists. For each one, write:
1. A short first DM (max 60 words) that feels personal and human, not like an ad. Reference something specific from their work.
2. A follow-up DM (max 40 words) to send if they don't reply in 3-4 days.
Background I'll provide: our positioning, what the product does, and 3 example DMs to match in tone.
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR
- Native-level, natural English. This is the #1 factor.
- Genuine personalization: no templates with the name swapped.
- Understanding of how stylists talk and what they care about (no-shows, rebooking, time spent on admin).
DELIVERABLE
A Google Doc or sheet with 10 rows: profile, first DM, follow-up DM. Delivery within 48 hours of receiving the profiles.
ONGOING WORK
If the test goes well, I'll hire you for a 2-week trial (10-15 hrs/week) running daily outreach for Velvet Studio, with a weekly review call, then ongoing if results are good. Performance bonus for qualified signups.

2. One example of past outreach or social media work and the result.
3. Your availability for ongoing part-time work (hours/week, timezone).
