We are seeking a talented Industrial / Product Designer to create initial concept sketches and form explorations for a next-generation, countertop dual-screen Point of Sale (POS) and integrated payment machine device.
*Please note: We are looking for an Industrial Designer with hardware experience, NOT a 2D graphic designer.*
**Project Overview:**
We need the initial "look and feel" visual concepts for a sleek, modern commercial retail terminal. The device will feature:
* Dual displays (one merchant-facing, one customer-facing).
* Integrated payment hardware areas (EMV card slot, contactless/NFC tap area, and magnetic stripe reader).
* Space allocated for an internal thermal receipt printer mechanism.
**Scope of Work (Phase 1 - Sketching Only):**
* **Ideation Sketches:** 3 distinct visual design directions (e.g., minimalist/sleek, futuristic, and robust/ergonomic).
* **Ergonomic Callouts:** Basic side-profile digital sketches demonstrating screen tilt angles and natural user interaction points (tapping, inserting cards).
* **CMF Suggestions:** Rough color, material, and finish callouts (e.g., anodized aluminum accents vs. matte plastics).
**Required Qualifications:**
* Proven portfolio showing industrial design ideation, consumer electronics, or kiosk/POS terminal concepts.
* Strong digital sketching and perspective rendering skills (Photoshop, Procreate, Sketchbook, or clean vector styling).
* Basic understanding of hardware component placement so the sketches remain realistically buildable down the road.
**Deliverables:**
A digital presentation layout (PDF or high-res images) containing the comparative concept sketches and layout notes.
**To Apply:**
Please attach or link your portfolio. Applications without examples of **physical product design, electronics, or hardware sketching** will not be considered. If you have worked on kiosks, cash registers, or payment hardware before, please highlight those projects!
