Indie Game Studio Logo

I’m looking for a clean, instantly recognisable visual identity for my indie game studio, Bad Turtle Games. I’m aiming for the same kind of confident simplicity seen in studios like Naughty Dog, Insomniac Games, Bungie, Valve, and Respawn: distinctive, professional, memorable and not overly designed.

This is a studio/company logo, not a logo for an individual game, esports team or streaming brand.

The design should feel minimal and modern, with a limited colour palette, strong shapes, and a clear silhouette. Clever use of negative space is welcome where it makes sense, but the overall result should stay simple and immediately readable.

I’d like the identity to have some personality without becoming cartoonish or aggressive. Because the studio is called Bad Turtle Games, I’m open to a simple turtle-inspired symbol, a strong wordmark, or a combination of both. I don’t want 3D effects, gradients, shields, controllers, esports styling, or anything that looks like a generic gaming logo. Please No AI.

For the contest, I’m looking for a strong original concept that clearly communicates the overall direction. The winning design can then be refined based on feedback before the final files are delivered.

The final logo should be provided in editable vector formats such as AI, SVG, EPS, and PDF, as well as transparent PNG files. It should work on both dark and light backgrounds, and ideally include a simplified or square version suitable for social media, Steam, Discord, and other small-format uses.

The finished identity should remain clear at around 32 px while also looking strong on a large splash screen, storefront banner or physical signage. Most importantly, it should feel like the identity of a real game development studio and sit comfortably alongside established studio brands like Naughty Dog or Bungie without copying them or feeling derivative.
