Teaser & Trailer Editor Required for Independent Film
We are independent filmmakers currently looking for a video editor to create a teaser and trailer from our completed feature film.
Scope of Work
- The trailer should be 2 minutes or less.
- The teaser should be short and impactful.
- The main requirement is cutting, selecting, arranging, and merging existing footage from the film to create an engaging teaser and trailer.
- We will provide the film/footage and the editor will create the initial cuts based on the story and available visuals.
- Title cards and credits do not need to be highly elaborate. Simple, clean, professional title/credit cards are sufficient. We will make the final adjustments ourselves.
- Final background music will be added by us. However, we would like the editor to use temporary/rough music in the edit so that we can understand what type of music and mood would work well with the trailer and teaser.
- The temporary music does not need to be licensed or final — it is only for reference and pacing.
What We Are Looking For
We want someone who understands trailer pacing, storytelling, cuts, transitions, build-up, and emotional impact. The trailer should feel cinematic and engaging without unnecessary over-editing or excessive effects.
This is an independent film with a limited budget, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable working within a modest budget and can bring creative ideas to the edit.
Please share your previous trailer/teaser editing work or portfolio along with your quote.
We are open to discussing the creative approach after the editor has seen the film/footage.
