Image Pairing & Excel Catalog

I have roughly 1,600 JPEGs—each product is shown twice, a “before scrap” shot and an “after scrap” shot. The file names are completely random, so the only way to identify each item is by reading the product number that appears inside every photo. None of those numbers, or the corresponding product names, are captured anywhere else yet.

Your task is to go through the entire folder, match every “before” image with its correct “after” counterpart, read the product number that is printed on the image itself, and build a clean Excel file. In the sheet I need one row per product with these columns:

• Product Number (extracted from the image)
• Product Name (also taken from the image text if present)
• Before-Image (embedded thumbnail or file path)
• After-Image (embedded thumbnail or file path)

Feel free to use any reliable OCR tool, manual inspection, or a blend of both—whatever ensures accuracy. When you’re done I should be able to filter, sort, and quickly view each before/after pair inside Excel with zero orphaned or mis-matched pictures.

Deliverables
1. Completed Excel workbook containing every paired entry.
2. A renamed image set (optional but preferred) that mirrors the Excel order, so future tracking stays simple.

Accuracy trumps speed, but I’d like an initial milestone of 10% of the catalog so we can confirm layout and naming conventions before you proceed with the remaining files.
