Illustrator for Christian Preschool Picture Book

We are looking for an illustrator for a 24-page Christian picture book for children ages 3–5. The book presents the Gospel simply for preschoolers, beginning with Creation and ending with the hope found in Jesus.

Project:

Approximately 9–10 two-page spreads including text, plus cover artwork. Each spread will generally include a larger main illustration and one or more smaller spot illustrations/elements.

A preschool-aged character will appear throughout the book, reacting to the story through expressions and body language.

Exact layouts are not finalized. We are looking for an illustrator who can contribute ideas about composition and visual storytelling as we develop the spreads together.

Start Date and Budget:

Illustration will begin as early as September.

The budget listed is flexible. We are open to proposals based on experience and project scope.

Style:

Warm expressive style that is simple enough for young children, with natural inviting colors. The people and animals should be believable though not photorealistic. No 3D/Pixar-like style.
