Illustrated Sci-Fi Fantasy Cover

I am commissioning an illustrated cover for my upcoming sci-fi fantasy novel. The scene should capture a dramatic, other-worldly atmosphere with a lone space knight as the undeniable focal point. Think advanced armor that hints at both medieval chivalry and sleek futuristic tech, set against a star-strewn backdrop that immediately signals space adventure.

Mood & palette
I’m leaning toward rich, luminous colors—deep nebula blues, electric purples, and metallic highlights—to convey wonder without losing the sense of danger that accompanies a knight’s quest among the stars.

Composition notes
• The space knight must be front and center, helmet visor catching starlight.
• Subtle planetary silhouettes or distant galaxies can fill the background, but they should never compete with the protagonist.
• No heavy text placement needed; I will add title/author later, so leave ample negative space in the upper third.

Deliverables
• Full-bleed front cover illustration at 6" × 9" (300 dpi, CMYK) ready for print.
• A second RGB version sized for Kindle and other e-book platforms.
• Layered PSD or Procreate file so I can adjust text placement if required.

Acceptance criteria
The piece must:
1. Clearly depict a recognizable space knight, blending both sci-fi and classic fantasy iconography.
2. Retain crisp detail at 100% zoom with no compression artifacts.
3. Match the color and sizing specs above.

If you have any portfolio pieces featuring character-focused illustrations in a cosmic setting, feel free to let that influence our direction. I look forward to bringing this heroic vision to life together.
