Illustrate Children’s Book (ages 4-8)

I’m preparing a book for children aged 4–8 and now need a talented illustrator to bring the meaningful story to life.

The project scope is 20 full-scene, colorful illustrations of a young boy - think of a playful, expressive kid that readers can immediately relate to—and his adorable rescue pup. The project includes a cover design that fits seamlessly with the internal art. There will be 2 minor human background characters (Mom and Dad). This is the first book in a 4-book series about rescue dogs, so I am seeking guidance and a lovely working relationship.

I am including a sample illustration and will provide a detailed brief to the selected illustrator, along with additional sample images. I’m flexible on illustration style, and I’m open to options as long as the artwork feels warm, engaging, and age-appropriate. We will carry this theme through the series.

Requirements and Ideal Skills:
- Illustrations shall not have been previously used anywhere, nor can they be used in the future.
- I am requesting full copyright/commercial rights. A transfer of copyright agreement will be signed.
- I am requesting print-ready files (CMYK, 300 dpi); original source files and JPG files for all illustrations for the final submission and for any future adjustments
- Web-optimized versions for marketing
- Experience with children’s book illustrations, specifically including kids and dogs
- Ability to create captivating, age-appropriate imagery
- Strong creativity and attention to detail

Please provide samples of relevant previous work; prior experience illustrating dogs is highly preferred.
Payment will be based on agreed Milestones.

Time Frame: 2.5 Weeks (bonus for completion before Sept. 10)
