Project Overview
We are looking for an experienced Delivery & Support Engineer / IBM Rational Application Migration Specialist to take end-to-end ownership of enterprise application migration, deployment, configuration, and ongoing L2/L3 support.
The applications in scope include IBM Rational JAZZ (Lifecycle Management), IBM ClearCase, IBM DOORS, and IBM ClearQuest.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with IBM Rational environments, legacy application migration, server configuration, database management, troubleshooting, and enterprise application support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Migration & Transition
Plan and execute application migration across on-premises, cloud, or hybrid environments.
Perform data migration with proper integrity, completeness, and validation checks.
Manage dependencies between DOORS, ClearCase, ClearQuest, and related tools.
Support cutover planning, go-live activities, and transition to production.
2. Server & Configuration Management
Configure and maintain application/server configuration files.
Set up and manage Dev, QA, and Production environments.
Configure and troubleshoot integrations between IBM Rational tools.
Investigate configuration issues and support performance optimization.
3. Database Management
Work with Oracle, SQL Server, and/or DB2 databases.
Identify and remove obsolete or redundant data.
Perform controlled database cleanup/truncation after migration where required.
Ensure appropriate backup, recovery, and rollback procedures.
Maintain data consistency and audit compliance.
4. Application Support & Maintenance
Provide L2/L3 production support.
Troubleshoot application and integration issues.
Monitor application health and meet SLA requirements.
Support incident, problem, and change management.
Implement patches, upgrades, fixes, and performance tuning.
5. Documentation & Governance
Document migration procedures and configuration changes.
Document database cleanup and validation activities.
Prepare technical status reports.
Follow organizational IT governance and security requirements.
Provide knowledge transfer and technical documentation after implementation.
Required Technical Skills
Candidates should have strong hands-on experience with:
IBM Rational JAZZ / CLM / ELM
IBM DOORS
IBM ClearCase
IBM ClearQuest
Linux and Windows server environments
XML, properties files, and configuration management
Oracle / SQL Server / DB2
Database migration and data validation
Shell, Python, or similar scripting
DevOps / ALM tool integration
Enterprise application migration and modernization

We are looking for a senior professional with approximately 10–12 years of relevant experience in application support, migration, delivery, IBM Rational administration, or related enterprise application environments.
Candidates should have a proven track record of handling legacy application migration, modernization, production support, and enterprise tool integration.
