I need a full-fidelity computer simulation that predicts how a research-submarine-shaped vehicle would behave if we tried to push it to roughly 2,000 km/h underwater. The core goal is to quantify speed, drag, pressure distribution, and any cavitation or shock phenomena so we can see whether the concept is even remotely viable and what design tweaks might lower resistance.
Scope
• Build or refine a clean 3-D geometry that follows a modern research-submarine body plan (smooth fairings, sail placement optional).
• Set up the flow domain and run high-speed CFD—ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM, or an equivalent solver are all acceptable as long as turbulence, compressibility, and cavitation models are handled correctly.
• Generate plots and tabulated data for drag forces, pressure coefficients, boundary-layer behavior, and flow separation points across a speed ramp up to 2,000 km/h.
• Briefly explore stealth implications by highlighting how the predicted flow field might translate to acoustic or radar signatures; I don’t need a full stealth model, just qualitative insight tied to the hydrodynamics.
• Deliver the editable simulation files, a concise technical report (methodology, mesh independence proof, key results, recommendations), and a short slide deck I can share with non-technical stakeholders.
Acceptance criteria
1. Mesh-independence study shows
