I’m ready to turn a spare room into a dedicated space for my solo podcast. What I need now is an engineer who can walk me through the full audio chain and a simple, reliable video-lighting package that supports one fixed camera angle.

Here’s the scope:

• Audio recording equipment – help me select a broadcast-quality microphone, audio interface, headphones, and any pre-amps or processors that make sense for a single-voice show. I’ll need guidance on placement, gain staging, and a quiet monitoring workflow.

• Video camera and lighting – choose a camera body or webcam capable of clean 1080/4K output, pair it with a soft-key lighting setup, and dial in color temperature so the picture looks polished without constant tweaking.

Once the gear list is final, I’d like you to assist with the physical setup, cable routing, and software configuration (e.g., Logic, Audition, or a comparable DAW for audio; OBS, Ecamm, or similar for video capture). A short recorded test session should verify that levels are healthy, the image is crisp, and sync is solid.

Deliverables:
1. Recommended equipment list with purchase links.
2. Step-by-step setup guide tailored to my room.
3. Live or recorded walkthrough for first-time use.
4. A one-minute test recording demonstrating clean audio and balanced lighting.

If you’ve built home studios for solo hosts before and can speak plainly about tech, I’d love to get this rolling.
