Historical Documentary Editing

Hi, I’m looking for a video editor for a long-term YouTube documentary project.

Here’s what I’m looking for:

- Videos will usually be around **10–15 minutes**
- I will provide the **final script, voice-over, important references and overall direction**
- You will handle the **complete edit**
- You should be able to source relevant **archival footage, historical photos, newspaper clippings and documents**
- Use copyright-safe stock footage where required
- Add **maps, timelines, simple motion graphics and infographics** when needed
- Handle **background music, sound design, captions, audio mixing and colour correction**
- Create **2 Shorts from each long-form video**
- Monthly (4-5 long Videos, 8-10 Shorts)

I’m not asking for an exact copy, but I want a similar approach to:

- Strong visual storytelling
- Good pacing
- Proper use of archival material
- Clean motion graphics and maps
- Strong music and sound design
- Cinematic documentary feel

Things I **don’t want**:

- Random or generic stock footage
- Repetitive visuals
- Basic slideshow-style editing
- Huge or karaoke-style captions
- Too many unnecessary effects or transitions
- Random AI-generated visuals
- Fake historical footage/images presented as real

**Budget: $30 for 1 long-form video + 2 Shorts.**

This is planned as a **long-term project for around 1 year**. I’ll start with one paid trial video, and if the quality, communication and consistency are good, I’d like to continue regularly with the same editor.
