High-Voltage Substation Design Engineer

I need an experienced HV design engineer for substation design work. The project is urgent and requires immediate attention.

Understanding the bigger picture, we are keen to impress going above and beyond with a comprehensive design (RIBA Stage 4) and even going the extra mile and possibly including more than they have asked for.



In addition to the design drawings, please also find attached LHR UKPNS ‘Standards’ documents for your reference. Please see additional note from UKPNS below:

*Please note that there is a deviation regarding the 110 V AC / 230 V AC supply arrangement. Heathrow's standard practice is to operate auxiliary AC systems at 230 V AC, and this should be considered during the design*



At this time, we only require a cost for the design works as we are only quoting at this stage. We are currently waiting for the drawings to be frozen.

We would very much appreciate if this cost could be kept as competitive as possible this hopefully allowing us to be in a good position for the next one.



For the purposes of your quotation, we would require the design package to include the following:



Layout drawings showing the proposed small power, lighting, and M&E services.
Elevation/section drawings identifying the locations of all small power, lighting, and M&E equipment.
Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) for the proposed electrical installations, including distribution board schedules, MCB schedules, and associated circuit details.
Equipment specifications, together with supporting design calculations.
Definition of the environmental design parameters in accordance with the relevant standards, along with calculations and justification supporting the selection and sizing of the M&E equipment.
An Electrical Works Brief outlining the proposed installation scope, design intent, and implementation requirements.
HVAC (Heating and Dehumidifiers, Aircon).
