High-End Residential Material Designer Required

We are looking for an experienced Interior / Exterior Finish Material Designer to assist with material selection, coordination, and presentation for a high-end two-story single-family residential house.

The project is a custom two-story single-family home with architectural drawings already developed. The scope will focus on creating a cohesive and well-coordinated material palette for both the interior and exterior of the house.
We are looking for someone with strong architectural and interior design judgment who understands how finishes, colors, textures, lighting, and adjacent materials work together—not simply someone who can produce renderings.

The designer will help evaluate and recommend materials such as:

>Exterior wall finishes, stucco, stone, metal, wood, and architectural cladding
>Roofing, gutters, flashing, exterior trim, and related finish colors
>Exterior doors, windows, frames, railings, and metal finishes
>Driveway, paving, exterior stairs, patios, decks, and landscape hardscape materials
>Interior flooring including hardwood, stone, tile, and specialty flooring
>Wall finishes, paint colors, wood panels, stone, tile, and decorative surfaces
>Interior doors, trim, cabinetry finishes, hardware, and metal finishes
>Kitchen and bathroom finish materials
>Countertops, backsplashes, shower finishes, and plumbing fixture finish coordination
>Stair materials, handrails, guardrails, and related finishes
>Fireplace finishes and feature walls
>Coordination between interior and exterior materials so the entire two-story house has a consistent design language

The primary objective is to refine the finish selections, compare alternatives, resolve material transitions, and create a complete and coordinated finish package for the house.

Expected deliverables may include:

>Interior and exterior material palette / mood boards
>Recommended material selections with manufacturer, product name, color, finish, and size where applicable
>Material comparison options when multiple products are being considered
>Finish schedules organized by room, floor, elevation, or architectural element
>Markups of floor plans and elevations showing material locations
>Details or diagrams for important material transitions
>Reference images and precedent examples
>Coordination recommendations for colors, textures, grout, trim, metal finishes, and adjacent materials
>Final organized material specification package that can be used for purchasing and construction

We prefer someone with experience in high-end custom single-family residential architecture, interior design, or architectural material specification.

Ideal qualifications include:
>Experience with two-story custom homes or similar residential projects
>Strong understanding of both interior and exterior architectural finishes
>Excellent sense of color, proportion, texture, and material compatibility
>Experience with modern or contemporary high-end residential projects
>Ability to read architectural plans, elevations, and details
>Familiarity with stone, wood, tile, metal, plaster/stucco, cabinetry, flooring, and architectural hardware
>Ability to research actual commercially available products rather than proposing materials that are difficult to source
>Ability to provide practical recommendations considering durability, maintenance, installation, cost, and availability
>Good organization and communication skills
