Position Overview
DAS Health is seeking a Managing Consultant - Technical to join our growing Consulting team.
This role is designed for a senior-level technical professional who enjoys solving complex client problems, leading technical engagements, and remaining actively involved in hands-on technical work.
Unlike traditional management roles, this position is focused on consulting and delivery. The Managing Consultant serves as a trusted advisor to clients while personally contributing to technical discovery, troubleshooting, analysis, implementation, optimization, and project execution.
Projects may involve healthcare IT infrastructure, application support, system optimization, reporting, system migrations, integrations, cloud technologies, Microsoft environments, or other professional services engagements.
The ideal candidate thrives in situations where there is not always a predefined playbook and is comfortable assessing unfamiliar challenges, creating structure, managing client expectations, and driving successful outcomes.
What You'll Do
Lead Client Engagements

Serve as the primary technical point of contact and trusted advisor for assigned clients

Own consulting engagements from kickoff through completion

Lead discovery conversations and assess client needs

Develop project plans, recommendations, timelines, risks, and next steps

Communicate project status and technical recommendations to client stakeholders

Coordinate with internal engineers and subject matter experts as needed while maintaining overall ownership of the engagement

Perform Hands-On Technical Work

Conduct technical discovery, analysis, troubleshooting, configuration, testing, implementation, and optimization activities

Assess issues spanning infrastructure, applications, databases, integrations, reporting, security, and user workflows

Support a variety of projects including:

Infrastructure modernization

Microsoft 365 and SharePoint initiatives

Application optimization

System migrations and upgrades

Reporting and analytics projects

Integration and interoperability initiatives

EHR/PM system support and optimization

Develop technical documentation, findings, recommendations, and client deliverables

Solve Complex Problems

Create structure when a client presents a challenge without a defined solution path

Analyze technical and operational requirements

Identify risks, dependencies, and implementation considerations

Research unfamiliar technologies and determine appropriate solution approaches

Translate technical findings into practical business recommendations

What We're Looking For
Required Experience

Senior-level experience in systems engineering, infrastructure support, application support, technical consulting, database support, solutions engineering, or comparable technical disciplines

Progressive IT career with recent hands-on responsibility for technical project delivery

Experience serving as a technical lead, technical point person, or trusted advisor for projects and client engagements

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in ambiguous situations

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Relevant Technical Experience
Candidates do not need expertise in every area below. Strong candidates typically bring meaningful depth in several areas and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:

Healthcare IT infrastructure, systems administration, or application support

Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Windows Server, identity management, networking, cloud, or virtualization environments

SQL Server or practical SQL use for troubleshooting, reporting, analysis, and application support

Reporting and analytics tools such as SSRS, Crystal Reports, Power BI, Tableau, or SQL-based reporting

Application and system performance analysis

Root-cause investigation and technical troubleshooting

APIs, integrations, interoperability, and interface technologies

HL7, FHIR, Mirth Connect, or related healthcare integration technologies

Backup, disaster recovery, security, and business continuity planning

EHR/PM platforms and healthcare application environments

Preferred Qualifications

Healthcare IT experience

Ambulatory EHR/PM experience

NextGen experience

Experience in a consulting, MSP, professional services, or client-facing technology environment

Experience independently leading technical projects from discovery through delivery

Experience presenting technical recommendations to operational leaders, IT teams, and executives
