Role Overview
The Group Chief Information Officer (CIO) will lead the digital transformation strategy across 24 independent entities, each with its own in-house technology team. Instead of a top-down directive, this transformation will be a collaborative approach, ensuring alignment while respecting the autonomy of each entity. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong financial stewardship, stakeholder management, and execution capabilities to drive group-wide innovation and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Group-Level Digital Leadership
Develop and execute a holistic digital strategy across 24 entities, ensuring alignment while accommodating each entitys unique needs.
Bridge the gap between group-level vision and entity-level execution, ensuring digital transformation delivers measurable business impact.
Establish group-wide technology standards, governance frameworks, and best practices, fostering innovation without stifling agility.
2. Financial Stewardship & Budget Management
Oversee and optimize the IT budget at the group level, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective technology investments.
Implement cost-sharing models where relevant, ensuring fair and strategic allocation of IT expenses across entities.
Continuously monitor and evaluate ROI on IT investments, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
3. Hands-On Leadership in a Complex IT Landscape
Work collaboratively with entity-level IT teams, guiding them through digital transformation rather than imposing a top-down mandate.
Be deeply involved in execution, understanding the realities on the ground and ensuring practical, scalable solutions.
Identify and bridge talent gaps, fostering cross-entity knowledge sharing and building a high-performing IT leadership network.
4. Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
Engage with C-suite executives, entity leaders, IT teams, and business technology stakeholders to drive alignment on digital transformation initiatives.
Work closely with vendors, partners, and external consultants to leverage best-in-class technologies and practices.
Facilitate a culture of collaboration and shared innovation, ensuring that best practices are effectively communicated across entities.
5. Strategic Vision & Execution
Define a clear, long-term IT roadmap that aligns with business growth and operational efficiency goals.
Lead large-scale IT initiatives, including cloud adoption, data strategy, AI integration, cybersecurity frameworks, and business process automation.
Ensure seamless technology integration across multiple systems, balancing innovation with operational stability.
Key Requirements
Experience & Leadership
15+ years of experience in IT leadership roles, with at least 5 years at the group or enterprise level.
Proven track record in leading digital transformation across multi-entity organizations.
Strong background in IT governance, infrastructure, enterprise architecture, and emerging technologies.
Financial & Budget Expertise
Demonstrated experience in managing large IT budgets, optimizing IT spend, and ensuring financial accountability.
Ability to balance cost efficiency with innovation and business impact.
Stakeholder & Change Management
Exceptional ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments across diverse business units.
Strong influence and relationship-building skills, fostering collaboration between group leadership and entity IT teams.
Experience in managing vendor partnerships and large-scale IT procurement.
Execution & Problem-Solving

Strong project execution capabilities, ensuring timely and successful implementation of IT initiatives.
Analytical mindset, able to make data-driven decisions to optimize IT performance and business outcomes.
